Black-sand beaches & sunset
Dauin's beaches are fine dark volcanic sand. Walk the shore at golden hour, watch the fishing boats come in and the sun set over Apo Island.
The coastline faces south-east toward Apo Island, and late afternoon is when the beach comes alive — kids swimming, fishermen pulling bangkas up the sand and beach bars switching on their lights.
Highlights
- Volcanic black sand
- Views to Apo Island
- Beach bars at sundown
Good to know
- Dark sand gets very hot by midday — bring sandals.
- Much of the beachfront is owned by resorts; use public access paths in the barangays.
